Imani Winds redefine the wind quintet with virtuosity, rhythmic vitality, and fearless programming. From Blanchet’s Haitian Folk Tale to Ravel’s elegant Le Tombeau de Couperin, Stravinsky’s theatrical Firebird Suite, and Schifrin’s jazz-infused La Nouvelle Orleans, the program spans centuries and styles before closing with the soulful anthem Someday We’ll All Be Free.

The Washington Post has praised Imani’s “brilliant playing and vibrant stage presence,” while The New York Times calls them “adventurous and dynamic.” Making their MitM debut, audiences should expect a performance of beauty, groove, and palpable electricity.
