Cancelled – Pamela Frank, violin with Stephen Prutsman, piano

November 18-20, 2020

Pamela Frank has established an outstanding international reputation across an unusually varied range of performing activity. As a soloist she has performed with leading orchestras including New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, and Berlin Philharmonic. Pamela performed regularly with the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, recording extensively with David Zinman. Winner of the prestigious Avery Fisher Prize, Pamela is professor of violin at the Curtis Institute of Music.

Classical and jazz pianist/composer Stephen Prutsman began performing in his teens with art rock bands and as a regular on a nationally syndicated gospel television show before he became a medal winner at the Tchaikovsky of Moscow and Queen Elisabeth of Belgium Piano Competitions. As a composer/arranger his music has been performed by Kronos Quartet, Tom Waits, Leon Fleisher, Dawn Upshaw, and Silk Road. Passionate for the plight of the developmentally disabled, Stephen co-founded the non-profit organization “Autism Fun Bay Area”.

We are thrilled to present the inimitable Pamela Frank in her MITM debut alongside an old friend and MITM favourite, Stephen Prutsman in a program which includes Brahms’ masterpiece Sonata in A major. In addition, Steve and Pam will also lead concerts for families touched by autism during the week.
