The Isidore String Quartet triumphed with the 1st Prize at the 2022 Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC), and opens the season with joyful exuberance and a thirst to connect. They will bring perform Bach’s Contrapunctus 1 from “The Art of the Fugue,” Canadian Dinuk Wijeratne’s “Disappearance of Lisa Gherardini” (BISQC’s commissioned work for the 2022 competition), and Mendelssohn’s brilliant String Quartet No. 5 in E-flat, Op. 44, No. 3.
