Cellist Colin Carr appears throughout the world as a soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, and teacher. He has played with major orchestras worldwide, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, The Philharmonia, Royal Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, the orchestras of, Los Angeles, Washington, Montréal among others. Carr is the winner of many prestigious international awards, including First Prize in the Naumburg Competition, the Gregor Piatigorsky Memorial Award, Second Prize in the Rostropovich International Cello Competition and also winner of the Young Concert Artists competition.

For this MITM performance, Carr will be joined by pianist Thomas Sauer, a highly sought-after soloist, chamber musician, and teacher who is a member of the Mannes Trio, ensemble-in-residence at the Mannes College of Music in New York City.

Carr and Sauer will take us on a journey of Beethoven sonatas with Sonata No. 2 in G minor op 5, and Sonata in A major op 69.
