It wouldn't be Music in the Morning without a visit from The St. Lawrence String Quartet. Together for more than 20 years, the St. Lawrence's uncanny rapport with each other and the audience results in delightfully fresh and inspiring concerts. Alex Ross of The New Yorker magazine writes, "the St. Lawrence are remarkable not simply for the quality of their music making, exalted as it is, but for the joy they take in the act of connection."
For these season closing Music in the Morning concerts, they will play a work commissioned for the group by the Julliard School in 2008, String Quartet by John Adams; plus Haydn's String Quartet Op.20 #4.
